Definitions:



Alert ID Group (USA)
Includes the equestrian division known as Ride Alert.

‘Account Setup’


The registration of one or more persons onto the Alert ID ‘Family ID Register’ can include:


  • Head of Family name and contact numbers
  • Family contact details
  • Holiday travel details
  • Vehicle details, driver and passenger placements
  • Pet(s) description, age, name etc.
  • Vets contact details
  • Pets medical and allergy details and crisis plan instructions.
  • Name, age and medical, allergy, donor and next-of-kin details for each person in the family.
  • Crisis plan instructions for each family member
  • Personal Insurance details
  • GP contact details
  • Description of portable valuables and relevant serial numbers.
  • Record of passport numbers, key numbers, bicycle frame numbers.
  • Date of service or MOT(inspection) and insurance renewal dates for auto email reminder.
  • Password and username generation
  • Limited license to access and store personal information on the Alert ID ‘Family ID Register’ database.
  • 50 megabytes of storage space
  • Postage – USPS delivery
  • Packaging
  • Accompanying ‘Product’ and ‘ID Device’ literature

‘Family ID Register’

The database upon which a family may store contact details, medical and allergy details and additional helpful information for themselves and their family for access by the Alert ID ‘Incident Response Center’, for the purposes of reuniting any person or any pet or anything bearing an Alert ID ‘ID Device’ with its owner or family.


‘Registered Account Holder’

This is the person that is shown as the head of the family on the ‘Family ID Register’.


‘Products’

‘Products’ include any material products that are posted or dispatched to an Alert ID customer on receipt of payment or otherwise. ‘ID Devices’ include ID tags and stickers, cards, registration certificates, promotional literature and brochures, packaging and all other physical items that may be available for purchase through the Ride Alert/Alert ID web shop or by telephoning Ride Alert.

ID tags, wristbands, lanyards, stickers, cards, dog tags or anything bearing the Alert ID telephone number and a unique ID reference number is known as an ‘ID Device’


‘ID Device’

An ‘ID Device’ is a device bearing the Alert ID telephone number and a unique reference number for that ‘ID Device’

After 7 days refunds for malfunction or wear and tear will be entirely at the discretion of Ride Alert/Alert ID.

All ‘ID Devices’ come with free ‘3 year’ ‘public’ access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ via the telephone number on the ‘ID Device’.

Any ‘ID Device’ where the telephone number or unique ID number becomes illegible, will no longer be deemed to be an ‘ID Device’ and Alert ID Group USA, LLC do not accept any responsibility for the condition of ‘ID Devices’ after the initial 7 day refund period has expired.


Free ‘Public’ access to ‘Incident Response Center’

Access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ is free with the purchase of any ‘ID Device’. You cannot purchase access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ for any period of time by credit or debit card. Any credit or debit card sale payment is for ID Device(s), Register set up, administration and Postage.


‘Incident Response Center’ access is not offered at the purchase transaction date. It is offered at point of Registration i.e. when the customer has received their ID Tags and are in the process of registering them.

Registered Families may have totally free access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ dependent on the terms and conditions of their Registration.


Access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ by telephone, can in certain circumstances be on a pay-as-you-go basis using a ‘premium rate’ telephone number at no more that $3.00 per minute. Such pay-as-you-go telephone calls are only for the purpose of updating contact details, change of address or to update family records via an operator in the ‘Incident Response Center’.


Free access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ is always available to anyone reporting that they have found any Alert ID ‘ID Device’ whether or not that device is attached to a person, pet or item of personal property.


‘The Registration Process and Free access to the Incident Response Center’

After your purchase of Alert ID ‘ID Devices’ you may register your family and ID Devices on the Alert ID Register. This can be done by visiting the Alert ID web site and is Free of further Charge. At the point of Registration you will receive 1 years access to the Register via the Alert ID web site and the public will receive 1 years Free access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ via the numbers on your ‘ID Device(s)’.


‘Incident Response Center’

Alert ID provides a central point to report the finding of a person, pet or item of personal property together with a unique Alert ID ‘ID Device’.

All Alert ID ‘ID Devices’ display a 24/7 telephone number and a unique ID number.

When the ‘ID Device’ telephone number is called by someone finding it, together with a person, pet or item of personal property, the call is answered by the ‘Incident Response Center’

The finder is asked to quote the displayed unique ID number and provide a name and contact number for themselves. They are also asked for their location.

Alert ID staff immediately access the ‘Family ID Register’ via a web link using a password and username. They search on the unique ID number and view the owners ‘Family ID Register’ record.

Our call handlers then telephone the owner using the stored contact details on the ‘Family ID Register’.

When the owner has been contacted our call handlers inform them of the finders name, contact number and location. The owner is then responsible for contacting the finder.

When a vehicle or person is found ill or injured by the emergency services Alert ID will provide the emergency services with such medical and allergy details that are stored on the ‘Family ID Register’ by the Family of the person(s) found. Detailed information will only be passed through the emergency service control room.

Alert ID will inform Next-of-kin of the details of an accident only when there is no likelihood that the person will die. When this is likely the responsibility to inform the next-of-kin is passed to the emergency services that will be given the details stored on the Alert ID ‘Family ID Register’.

Terms and Conditions of Sale

Please read these terms and conditions (the “Online Purchasing Policy”) carefully as they affect your rights and liabilities under the law and set out the terms on which Alert ID makes the products available to you through the Ride Alert/Alert ID websites or by telephone contact with a consultant.


1. VIA THE ALERT ID WEBSITE

The technical steps which create the contract between you and us are as follows:
(a) You place your order for ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and ‘ID Devices’ on the Website by pressing the order confirmation button at the end of the checkout process. There may or may not be a packaging and delivery charge dependent on any particular offer at the time.

(b) You may request an acknowledgement, which may be posted or emailed to you, detailing the products you have ordered. This is not an order confirmation and does not constitute an acceptance by Alert ID of your order.

(c) Upon dispatch of your order, you may request an order confirmation, which will be posted with your ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’. Acceptance of the order and the completion of the contract between you and us will take place on the dispatch to you of the products ordered, unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order or you have cancelled your order.
(d) Before paying for your ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ you will be required to confirm that you accept the terms and conditions of each part of the sale.


2. PRICES

2.1. The prices payable for the ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ that you order are clearly set out in the Website. If, mistakenly, the price that appears on the Website is not the correct price for a particular product, we are not obliged to supply that product to you at the stated price, provided that we notify you before the product is dispatched to you.

2.2. Due to circumstances beyond our control, prices may have to be altered, including any variations in the rate of taxes payable. If this occurs, you will be notified and requested to reconfirm your order at the amended price.


3. AVAILABILITY

3.1. The purchase of ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ displayed on the Alert ID website is subject to availability and we shall not be liable to you in the event that we are unable to supply ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ to you.


4. PAYMENT

4.1. The total cost of your order is the price of the ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ ordered plus any applicable packaging and delivery charges as indicated at the time that you place your order.

4.2. Payments can be accepted from most credit and debit cards.

4.3. Credit/debit card payment will be processed at the time that you place your order.

4.4. All card payments are processed by our Merchant Services provider for a commission fee which is included in the cost of your purchase.


5. DELIVERY

5.1 Orders will normally be processed within 48 hours of receipt and delivered to the address specified by you at the time of ordering using USPS standard ground shipping.

5.2 In respect of products which are made to order, the overall delivery time will be longer. We shall not be liable to you for any loss resulting from delay in delivery to you.
5.3 The delivery charge applicable to your order will be indicated at the time that you are asked to confirm your order.


6. CANCELLATION

6.1 You have the right to cancel your order of ‘Account Setup’ and or ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ up to 7 working days after the date of order of the products by contacting us by email.
6.2 If ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ have already been dispatched to you before you notify us that you wish to cancel the order, you must return any ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ to us in accordance with our Returns procedure below.


7. RETURNS

7.1 If, for any reason, you need to return ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ to us, you must do so within 28 days of the date of delivery. Please use the following procedure for returning any product to us:
i) Keep the product in the original packaging and in its original condition;
ii) Send the item to us by USPS certified post at the following address:

7.2 Please note the following points in relation to returns.

(a) All ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ must be returned to us unopened and in good condition. We reserve the right to withhold refund of part or all of the purchase price if the product is returned in a condition which makes it unfit for resale;

(b) Alert ID shall not be liable for the non-receipt by us of returned ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’. Please send returned ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ to us by certified post and retain a copy of the certificate of posting from the Post Office.

(c) Upon receipt by us of the returned ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’, your credit/debit card will be credited with the purchase price of the ‘Products’ and or ‘ID Devices’ (but excluding the relevant delivery charge and the return postal charges unless the products are faulty or returned due to an error on our part).


8. PURCHASED & LAPSED ‘REGISTRATION ACCOUNT’

Your ‘Account Setup’ is a one off charge to enable you to purchase ‘Product’ and ‘ID Devices’ to identify people, pets and personal property.


Your account will remain active once you have purchased and then registered ‘ID Devices’. Registration of your ID Devices provides the public with Free access to the ‘Incident Response Center and covers all ’ID Devices’, whenever they were purchased.

Free access to the ‘Incident Response Center’ expires after 1 years from the point of your registration with Alert ID. Purchase of further year's account registration will enable you to continue with registration for all your ‘ID Devices’.

It is the ‘Registered Account Holder’s‘ responsibility to ensure that their ’Registered Account’ remains active.


9. ‘FAMILY ID REGISTRATION’ TERMINATION BY ALERT ID

Alert ID reserve the right to terminate the ‘Family ID Register’ account of any person with a full refund of the ‘Account Setup’ charge and a refund of any ‘Product’ and or ‘ID Devices’ that are returned to Alert ID upon request. Alert ID are not under any obligation to give an explanation for termination of any ‘Family ID Registration’ account.


10. LEGAL NOTICE

This Online Purchasing Policy incorporates the terms set out in the Legal Notices and acceptance by you of the Online Purchasing Policy shall be deemed to be an acceptance by you of the Legal Notices.
